For CELLO and piano
Korngold's most popular opera Die Tote Stadt, contains a number of aria and duets that are gems in their right. Pierrot's Tanzlied from Act 2 was particularly popular in the 1920 that Fritz Kreisler made an arrangement of it for violin. This new arrangement uses Korngold's own piano reduction, but with a few simplifications to the complex writing while the vocal line has been slighted adapted to suit the cello.
