Luise Le Beau was a German composer who challenged a male-dominated profession to make a career for herself as a performer and composer. Like many women composers she suffered near total neglect after her death, but recently there has been some renewed interest in her works. This Romance for violin and piano is typical of the well crafted music she composed.
