Holosinnya for violin and piano by Stanislav Lyudkevych is almost unknown outside Ukraine, yet it deserves a far wider audience. A lyrical, heart felt piece whose title means Lamentations, Lyudkevych was one of those composers who refused to follow the Russian policy of Soviet Realism and instead wrote music which reflected real life.
