Le Tsigane dans la lune is one of Wertheim's earliest surviving compositions.  It is a setting of a poem by Jean Lahor, a pseudonym of the symbolist poet Henri Cazalis.  Only lovers at midnight in the forest can hear the distant sounds of a solo violin.  This is an arrangement for contralto with viola instead of violin made by David Ashbridge.
